This notice covers the publisher and host of the site, intellectual property, how we handle personal data, cookies, our affiliate disclosure, and the law that applies. The English edition of La Pincée serves readers in the US, the UK, and beyond; where rules differ by region, we apply the standard that gives you the most protection.

4. Terms of use

Using this site means you accept these terms. You agree not to interfere with the site's operation (attacks, mass scraping, bypassing security), not to reuse its content commercially without prior written permission, and to respect the laws of your own country and the laws that govern this site. We may update these terms at any time; changes take effect when published here.

5. Intellectual property

All original content on the site — text, photographs, illustrations, diagrams, visual identity, the product database, and the editorial curation of the kits — is protected by copyright and related rights. La Pincée owns the rights to its original content except where stated otherwise (for example, third-party photographs, credited at each use). No reproduction, adaptation, republication, or distribution of the site or its content, in whole or in part, by any means, is permitted without prior written consent.

Third-party trademarks mentioned (Amazon, Sous Chef, Burlap & Barrel, Diaspora Co, Spicewalla, Jacobsen Salt, Steenbergs, and others) are the property of their respective owners and are used for strictly editorial reference.

6. Personal data

We process personal data under the EU/UK GDPR for readers it covers, and in line with US state privacy laws (including California's CCPA/CPRA) for US readers. Our principles:

  • Purposes: sending the newsletter (with your explicit opt-in), handling messages sent through the contact page, anonymized site analytics, and operating affiliate links.
  • Data collected: email address (newsletter and messages), partially anonymized IP (analytics), and technical cookies needed to run the site.
  • Legal basis: consent (newsletter, optional analytics) and legitimate interest (site security, handling messages).
  • Retention: up to three years after last contact for emails; up to thirteen months for analytics cookies.
  • Recipients: the site's publisher only. No sale or transfer of data to third parties for commercial purposes — and, for US readers, we do not sell or share your personal information in the sense those laws define.
  • Processors: our host (§3), our newsletter provider, and an anonymized-analytics provider.

Your rights: access, correction, deletion, portability, restriction, and objection (plus, for US readers, the right to opt out of sale/sharing). To exercise them, email hello@lapincee.fr with "Privacy request" in the subject. EU/UK readers may also complain to their data-protection authority; California readers may contact the California Privacy Protection Agency.

7. Cookies

The site uses three categories of cookie:

  • Strictly necessary (session, consent preferences) — no consent required.
  • Anonymized analytics — no consent required where fully anonymized.
  • Affiliate-partner cookies (Amazon Associates, Awin, ShareASale) — consent required; set only after you explicitly accept on the consent banner.

You can change your choices any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.

8. Affiliate disclosure

This site contains affiliate links. When you buy a product through one of them, La Pincée earns a commission from the merchant at no extra cost to you. That commission does not affect our rating — see Affiliations. This disclosure meets the FTC endorsement guides (US) and the CMA's labeling guidance (UK).

9. Governing law

The site and its use are governed by the law of the publisher's jurisdiction, without prejudice to the mandatory consumer-protection rights you hold where you live. We'll attempt to resolve any dispute amicably first.

10. No direct sales

La Pincée sells no products of its own: the site is purely editorial and affiliate-funded, and we enter no sale contract with you. Every purchase is made directly with the third-party merchants we link to; any dispute about an order is between you and that merchant, under their own returns and dispute terms. If we ever offer a direct commercial service, the relevant consumer-redress information will be added here.
